Defending the Separation of Laws! Keep Fanatics Off OUR Constitution!

Where is Buddhist Representation in Washington?

In 1996, I seen a lot of religious groups disregarding Separation of Church and State, and pushing biblical view on the diverse population regardless of others own religious belief and respect for others.  I was disturbed that I didn’t see any Buddhist speaking out against these policies.  I contacted one Buddhist temple, and asked the priest why I wasn’t seeing any Buddhist leaders speaking out against the in equality’s taking place, and he said because their not suppose to.

We have laws, common laws and basic understandings of Separation of Church and State, not to mention IRS tax codes to follow and respect, so why wouldn’t the Buddhist temples comply, they should.  However, were living in a country where it appears that other faiths are no longer honoring our laws, and now we have no voice against the those who wish to oppress us.  Buddhist temples are being target with hate in America, and I’ve heard several Christian preachers call Buddhist devil worshipers, even when the “devil” is a Christian god, not a Buddhist god.  Buddhism has concepts of hell realms, but they are only concepts like bad day’s, or periods of time when your going through hard times as a result of your own actions.

Buddhists have been in America for more than one hundred fifty years.  Their are Buddhist temple, schools, charity’s and universities all over America.  So, surely Buddhist should also have representation in Washington, as other faith based initiative groups are in attendance.

No Buddhists in Washington?

“Religious Literacy Dictionary” in Stephen Prothero’s 2007 bestseller, Religious Literacy, devotes less than two pages to “Buddhism,” but spends seven lines making the point that “Buddhists have not been particularly active in American politics.” This notion, accurate or not, is probably the perception of most Americans, many of whom have little real awareness of the 2,500-year-old tradition to begin with. It may also explain why President Obama’s 25-member Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships (which just launched its official Web site) currently lacks a Buddhist representative, despite the presence of at least one appointee from the other four major world religions. Climate Change Policies Are Good For the Economy

Climate deniers are afraid that people will lose jobs, but I don’t feel that to be true.  When a nation gets together to do something they create jobs and invent new things for the better of the country.  New jobs will also be created for greener energy, and companies don’t want to change because their CEO’s will lose money in their pockets, it’s these people who are funding research that has no scientific bases to their theories with regard to climate change.  They won’t lose money if they change the way they do things.

They dispute the evidence we have to prove climate change, but they bring nothing to the table to prove otherwise.

The Economic Case for Slashing Carbon Emissions

The climate change news from Washington is cautiously encouraging. No one in power is listening to the climate skeptics any more; the economic stimulus package included real money for clean energy; a bill capping U.S. carbon emissions emerged, battered but still standing, from the House of Representatives, and might even survive the Senate. This, along with stricter emission standards in Europe and a big push for clean energy and efficiency standards in China, provides grounds for hope for genuine progress on emissions reduction.

But while climate policy is finally moving forward, climate science is moving faster. One discovery after another suggests the world is warming faster, and climate damages are appearing sooner, than anyone had expected. Much of the policy discussion so far has been aimed at keeping the atmospheric concentration of CO2 below 450 parts per million (ppm) – which was until recently thought to be low enough to prevent dangerous levels of warming. But last year, James Hansen, NASA’s top climate scientist, argued that paleoclimatic evidence shows 450 ppm is the threshold for transition to an ice-free earth. This would imply a catastrophic rise in sea levels, eventually flooding all coastal cities and regions.

The outliers are the handful of private consultant studies funded by partisan lobbying groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers. Using proprietary models (or their own adaptations of standard models), and pessimistic economic assumptions, these studies forecast that even mild U.S. proposals, such as last year’s Lieberman-Warner bill, would cost many thousands of dollars per household and would cause widespread unemployment and economic dislocation. An analysis by journalist Eric Pooley documents the excessive, often uncritical attention given to these studies by the media.

Lack of Education Or Just Pure Denial of Unnatural Climate Change With Today’s American Citizens?

I don’t know how “conservatives” or the majority of them, without any evidence at all can say that climate change is not occurring in a unnatural way!  I mean the evidence is there where ever you look, and even other peoples from other cultures have oral history that states the same.  Maybe they think because their a different culture that they don’t give a damn, but the facts remain that humans are causing a breakdown of our natural ecosystem where ever you look.  This isn’t about some alleged “leftist” trap hole, I heard that commented by some conservative as well.  Whether it be from peoples oral history or natural evidence all around us, from people getting sick to 10,000 year old sediment, earth core samples or melted thousand year old glaciers…!

I debated one lady who said; “the environment goes through a natural cycle every 70 to 100 years!”

Duh!  That’s not even the point, and I think the issue is WAY over her head!  I learned about the natural cycles of the eco system since grade school, yet I also knew about “global warming” since that time.  We are not talking about the natural cycles that may occur every 100 years or so, and we’re not even talking about the seasonal changes or the changes of drought that we might see every few years.  We are talking about the unnatural climate changes!  Hello!

Not sure where people are getting their education these day’s, but I don’t think a lot of them are getting a full education from an accredited school.  Something seems to be lacking, from science to even basic histories these day’s, and it’s even scary to see our leaders getting into office without a basic education.

Arctic Sediments Show That 20th Century Warming Is Unlike Natural Variation

The possibility that climate change might simply be a natural variation like others that have occurred throughout geologic time is dimming, according to evidence in a Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences paper published October 19.

The research reveals that sediments retrieved by University at Buffalo geologists from a remote Arctic lake are unlike those seen during previous warming episodes.

The UB researchers and their international colleagues were able to pinpoint that dramatic changes began occurring in unprecedented ways after the midpoint of the twentieth century.

“The sediments from the mid-20th century were not all that different from previous warming intervals,” said Jason P. Briner, PhD, assistant professor of geology in the UB College of Arts and Sciences. “But after that things really changed. And the change is unprecedented.”

The sediments are considered unique because they contain rare paleoclimate information about the past 200,000 years, providing a far longer record than most other sediments in the glaciated portion of the Arctic, which only reveals clues to the past 10,000 years.  [see full article]

Journalists Shouldn’t Be Defending Fox News

Typically, I used to watch all sources of news media [TV], and about six years ago watching Fox News, I had made a decision not to watch that channel because of their anchors type of “news” reporting, they became more personal rather than reporting the news, and it appears that they have only become worse since then.

I don’t really watch TV news, and get more of my news from reading it from journalism, or real news rather than an anchor who should be reporting the news over his personal opinions.  I’m not a reporter, but I do have opinions, so I like to give my opinion on what I read and how I feel about it.  That’s what my blogs are about.

News anchors are suppose to report the news as it is, not color it up or edit it in a biased way in order to favor one issue over another, that’s not journalism, and their suppose to keep their personal opinion to themselves when reporting the news.  Otherwise it’s just tabloid news, and if I wanted that I would watch tabloid news.

Why Journalists Shouldn’t Be Defending Fox News

The Obama administration’s recent characterization of Fox News is a long overdue acknowledgment of the obvious: Fox News is not a legitimate news organization — indeed, after many years of serving as the research and messaging wing of the Republican Party, it has now gone beyond even that, to become the electronic evangelist of an ultra-partisan and non-reality-based world view.

Historically speaking, White House criticism of the media has often been unseemly and defensive, with the president’s ire generally provoked by journalists who excel at their work — by asking cheeky questions, exposing important things that the president would prefer be kept secret, holding the powerful accountable and playing host to a vibrant and informed exchange of a wide range of political opinions.

But in this case, the critique is something else entirely. The litmus test is that the Obama White House is not upset at news gatherers for doing their job. What Obama and his aides are correctly pointing out is that the people working at Fox News are doing another job altogether.

The White House “attack” on Fox is being derided as bad politics, as ineffective and as a distraction from more important issues — all of which may be true. But doesn’t it kind of matter that, when it comes to the substance of what Anita Dunn, David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel, and now even Obama himself have said, they’re exactly right?

NBC May 2008; It doesn’t take a trained psychologist to observe that Bush got angrier and angrier as the Engel interview went on….

Bush typically sits down with interviewers from Fox News — or, more recently, Politico — where he can count on more than his share of ingratiating softballs. But Engel, a fluent Arabic speaker who has logged more time in Iraq than any other television correspondent, assertively confronted Bush with the ramifications of his actions in the Middle East.

For instance, Engel noted: “A lot of Iran’s empowerment is a result of the war in Iraq.” He questioned Bush about his lack of an exit strategy in Iraq: “So it doesn’t sound like there’s an end anytime soon.” He clearly upset Bush by saying that “on the ground,” the situation in Iraq “looks very bleak.” (Bush replied: “Well, that’s interesting you said that — that’s a little different from the surveys I’ve seen and a little different from the attitude of the actual Iraqis I’ve talked to, but you’re entitled to your opinion.”)

“The war on terrorism has been the centerpiece of your presidency. Many people say that it has not made the world safer, that it has created more radicals. That there are more people in this part of the world who want to attack the United States.”

[That’s an understatement!  I think Bush only went into Iraq because Saddam had threatened his father in 1992, and he wanted to get him back, meanwhile he lost all interest in the actual people (Bin Laden, and his Arab followers) who attacked during September  11th.  Has everyone forgotten what Bush did during that fateful date?  He didn’t bother calling the fighter jets, and instead he continued to read to the children because he alleges he “didn’t want to scare the children.”]

Utah lawmakers hear differing climate change views

I hear a lot of conservative alleging that their is no relation to human and climate change, but I wonder where they get their evidence.  Many scientist agree that the earth is warmer than is should be, and that evidence is based on scientific data, empirical data, yet the opposing scientist only state that more evidence is needed.  Okay, more evidence is needed, but what we have is a good enough reason to start making plans, and if a few years later we get the evidence from the opposing scientist they okay, but I hope that it would mean the people can continue trashing our earth.

Should people leave their trash in the street, and do they think that earth will clean itself?  They seem to  have a lot of fear and allege that this is a fear tactic, but I dispute that it’s a fear tactic because we have known about the climate changes for more than thirty years.  I remember seen a film and learning about changes brought about by human carelessness on the planet we call home more than thirty years ago. So, this can not be some alleged “fear tactic” because fear tactics require an immediate reaction, such as alleging their are terrorists all around us, so the President ends all domestic freedoms in order to combat this alleged terrorist, this is called fear tactics when it’s not even true.

Global warming knowledge has been around for decades, and many educated people already know about it.  Many have taken steps [little steps], but at least people started decades ago by recycling or composts.  It’s not that hard however more needs to be done by everyone in order to lower the C02 [350] levels in our air.

I see that some people seem to have a fear of losing jobs, but if that is the case then make jobs, their are jobs that can replace jobs that are pollutants to the earth, yet America is dragging it’s feet so that other country’s are taking up those jobs.  Last I heard China is the leader in creating wind driven power because American’s don’t want to do that.  Sounds very familiar with the High Speed Rail 30 years ago, that American’s also didn’t want to do, so the creator went to Europe to do it.

These conservatives in politics continue to hold back progress of this country.  That’s very sad!  It’s a wonder why 1 out of 6 American’s live in poverty because politicians keep holding us back, lets move forward and advance our country into the 21st century.

What you take must be replaced it’s as simple as that.  Tree’s clean our air, they take the C02 out of our air and give us O2 to breath.  If human’s continue to create C02, and cut down trees what do you think would happen?  That is basic science, but there are also more examples piling up!

Earth can not clean itself if the humans that create the excessive trash do nothing to help clean it, do you think earth will pick up your trash?  Earth needs help, what is so hard about helping keep earth clean?  Some of  you may live in small middle America where you don’t see what is happening, but look around you, look in other places, look at other countries and learn about other cultures and their history because their own history tells a story that climate change is happening.

I for one want to be clean, and I want a clean earth to live in.

Clean is a good thing! Don’t be afraid of cleanliness.

Utah lawmakers hear differing climate change views

Utah lawmakers are getting competing views on climate change, one emphasizing the vast scientific consensus about warming trends and humanity’s influence and another raising doubts about the root causes.

At a standing-room-only hearing at the Capitol Wednesday, the Public Utilities and Technology Interim Committee heard 90 minutes of testimony on climate change.

University of Utah scientist James Steenburgh, who led a state science panel on the expected effects of global warming in Utah, emphasized that temperatures are gradually rising and people are very likely to blame.

But University of Alabama researcher Roy Spencer offered doubts about that conclusion and said natural climate cycles should be more thoroughly investigated.

Lawmakers held the hearing as they follow Congress’ consideration of carbon cap and trade legislation.

Out of Control Evangelical Christian’s on a Cruisade

This is what happens when Evangelical’s are allowed to control the people. Let’s hope we all stand for and defend Separation of Church and State laws in America, otherwise this crusade will start in the United States, AGAIN!  Keep religion out of politics, and don’t make laws favoring religious dogma or religious fatwa’s.  America takes pride in itself with the separation of church and state laws, but more recently voters voted in favor of a religious fatwa in California, and these same types of Evangelical Christian’s are moving across the states to change laws through voter fear tactics in favor of religious dogma.

Wake up people or the Crusades, Salem Witch Trials, or the Inquisitions will take place once again in the America’s.  Religious dogma should not be forced on those of us who do not practice that dogma, and children should be protected from the harm they may inflict upon them as a result of that dogmatic view.

If they had their way the killings would start today.

Beware of the history they try to distort.  Some of them allege things like the Holocaust, the First American Genocide never existed or happened in order to bolster alleged kindness toward the first people here, when they considered them “devils” fit for killing and taking of their land.  You think these people got rich by hard work, the land is stolen land.  Let’s not forget about the Christian terrorists of which the media doesn’t even mention, but they sure mention alleged Islamic “terrorists” and don’t even ask why they exist.

Many of our ancestors came here because they were persecuted for who they were by religious fanatics.  Stand up and defend Separation of Church and State!

Churches involved in torture, murder of thousands of African children denounced as witches

EKET, Nigeria (AP) — The nine-year-old boy lay on a bloodstained hospital sheet crawling with ants, staring blindly at the wall.

His family pastor had accused him of being a witch, and his father then tried to force acid down his throat as an exorcism. It spilled as he struggled, burning away his face and eyes. The emaciated boy barely had strength left to whisper the name of the church that had denounced him — Mount Zion Lighthouse.

A month later, he died.

Nwanaokwo Edet was one of an increasing number of children in Africa accused of witchcraft by pastors and then tortured or killed, often by family members. Pastors were involved in half of 200 cases of “witch children” reviewed by the AP, and 13 churches were named in the case files. [read full article]

Conservatives remove “liberal” passages from the bible

Who are they to determine what part of “gods” word is “liberal?”  Are they “gods” to think they can circumvent “gods” word?

This is so hilarious, and just proves my point in previous posts about how they’ve been rewriting the bible since the inquisitions. They do it so that it suits their own needs, and this just validates that the bible is simply written by men, and it’s not the word of “god” or “jesus” because it’s their own words.  Rewritten and retranslated who knows how many times.  The cronology doesn’t fit, it contradicts itself page after page because they’ve been removing information from it.

People just walk away from it, it’s all a farce.

Conservatives remove liberal passages from the Bible

“The eager young men at Conservapedia are p.o.’d that the Bible might be seen as too liberal. So they’ve come up with the Wiki-style Conservative Bible Project, to make sure the Lord doesn’t go all wobbly on us.”

Conservatives Glad Chicago Lost the Olympic Bid

Their such a waste to this country!

They protest and take delight that Chicago didn’t win the Olympics because Our President spoke in favor of it?  If he hadn’t spoken in favor of it, I’m sure they wouldn’t have taken delight.  They’re pitiful, they want President Obama to fail as President and they are doing everything they can to prevent any of his policies to pass.  The Republican GOP and their fanatical religious right winged groups are useless to this countries progress.  They’ve had the White House and congress for at least eight years, and they did nothing but put American in debt in the trillions, took us to wars for alleged terrorist in a country that didn’t even hold Bin Laden along with more than 4000 US Soldiers killed, in the name of their conservatism.  The country’s infrastructure is falling apart, we have children who are going to bed hungry, and most of the homeless in America are veterans.  After eight years of Bush GOP conservatism we now have whole families that are homeless.

We voted for change in 2008, and now these conservative fanatical religious GOP groups are doing everything they possibly can to prevent any policy of President Obama’s to succeed.

What do they do for America, nothing.

Conservatives Delight In Olympic Snub To Obama

U.S. conservatives are celebrating like Brazilians after the failure of Chicago to win the 2016 Olympics despite the Copenhagen lobbying efforts of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to bring home the gold, as it were.

And their joy seems only magnified by Chicago being dumped from the competition for the games after just the first round of voting.

Parks and Our environment should be respected and cared for generations to come

and Inhofe say’s that “god” is still up there as if he is not down here or anywhere else!

When I was growing up I was taught that god is all around us and within us all.  Having said that we should all respect the environment instead of trashing it, as well as respect the things around us.  It’s what the First American’s believed as well; they took care of the land and respected what was in it, and used only what they needed, but when the third wave of immigrants came to this land and brought with them their views of god.  They destroyed and trashed much of the land along with killing these First American’s and took their lands, it’s how they were able to get rich so fast.

Even today, these same types of religious people don’t give a damn about our country or the affects they are causing to it, and they’d rather ignore the evidence ,scientific evidence, over their dogmatic view and/or hate toward a person who is educating people about these issues.  It’s amazing to see the venom spewing from their mouths about people who want to protect our environment.  These are alleged “god” fearing people?

Ken Burns on His National Parks Documentary

What is it that you love so much about the parks?
They could’ve only been invented in America, where people were free, and it isn’t just a political freedom—this is where I think we get all tangled up in knots all the time. The original impulse of the national parks is spiritual. In the United States, the first tangible manifestations of this is the transcendental movement, and later the Hudson River/Rocky Mountain School of Art: it’s saying that you could find God in nature more easily than through a dogmatic devotion that required you to find God in a cathedral built by the hands of man.

The Boycot of Glen Beck Shows and Fox for Hate Speech

I don’t understand why Fox has some one that keeps spreading lies and hate toward other people, is that what Fox is about?

Obama is multi-ethnic and his mother is Caucasian!   It’s silly for this guy to say Obama has “deep seated hatred for white people”  those are not facts.  Obama loved his grandmother who’s of Caucasian origins or “white” as that guy would like to put it.

Him insinuated that Obama is a Nazi is oxymoron because Nazi‘s as well as the KKK are the ones who keep pushing some alleged “white” culture!  We are American’s and we live in an American culture which is a diverse culture and should be free according to our constitutions.

People like Glen Beck are the ones who are anti-American and spreading hate towards other American’s who are not Caucasian, and if people like him don’t like it, then they should go back to England.

These people should make up their minds on who they hate as well, they used to hate the French because they were against Bush policies, now they’re alleging Obama is against “white” people!  What a joke of a show!  I’m sure the only people taking pleasure in his antics are those hate groups, Nazi’s, KKK, KKKK and other fanatical Christian groups that target REAL American’s.  Educate yourself about religious fascists, terrorists and fanatical groups [Jim Jones, Timothy McVeigh, Branch Davidian, etc.]

Glen Beck is preaching to people hate, and how many people are listening to his hate speaches?  How many people who know nothing about the truth, and all their lives have listened to people like Glen Beck preaching hate toward other people in the church’s alleging some conspiracy against “white” people?

Apple targeted in Fox News ad boycott

Apple (AAPL), a company that counts Al Gore among its board members and whose CEO once dated Joan Baez, found itself the unlikely target of an advertising boycott campaign this week.

The issue is an iPhone ad that appeared on the Aug. 7 broadcast of the Glenn Beck show on the Fox News Channel (NWS).

Under pressure from advocacy groups, more than a dozen companies, including ConAgra (CAG), Geico, Procter & Gamble (PG) and Progressive (PRG), have pulled their commercials from the conservative commentators’ show. (See here.)

The boycott was launched last month by ColorofChange.org after Beck made remarks on Fox and Friends that labeled President Obama a “racist” with a “deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”
