Religious Propaganda Machine; I Know It All To Well!

I’ve been saying all along the Mormons and other religious fanatics were telling people lies just to get the votes they needed to win, which by the way was about 52% barely making it, so  you know that there’s some bias there.  We have them in every society there’s always that 2% of bigotry in society that we can do without, and we wouldn’t being going throught this religious trial, paid for by taxpayers, fighting for the civil rights of Californian’s to be treated equally.

Pound Prop 8: Tracking the Trial Tweets « Prop 8 Trial Tracker

Perhaps it is because I’m Jewish, a Lesbian, married to a Black woman and living in Orange County that I am so highly attuned to the propaganda generated by the proponents of prop 8. Maybe there is something in my historical memory that insists that I be hyper-alert to dangerous rhetoric, given the knowledge that for centuries, propaganda has been used to stigmatize, marginalize, oppress, violate, and annihilate people like my wife and me. Like so many others, I was looking forward to watching the trial broadcast on YouTube because I knew that people would finally get to see for themselves the bigotry and lies that were at the heart of prop 8; they would get to see the testimonies of Kristin Perry & Sandra Stier, and Paul Katami & Jeffrey Zarrillo. Surely this would move many hearts and minds, regardless of the verdict.

When the media started paying attention to the battle over whether or not the trial would be broadcast, I noticed the comments coming from the defense. We know they didn’t want people to hear and see the testimonies; broadcasting the trial would prevent them from spinning the facts and might allow a reasonable public to hear the truth and identify with the very sympathetic plaintiffs. But with their spin, the propaganda began. Once again, they were attempting to control the public perception of gays and lesbians. There they were on the major news networks, talking about risking the safety of their clients and their clients’ families, and about needing to protect “the children.” This is the same propaganda that was used to dehumanize Blacks here in America and abroad, and Jews (and LGBTs), in nazi Germany. The rhetoric makes us into predators who pray on children and angry, out-of-control monsters who will destroy civilization.  [read this article]

They’re Already Here!

People in Guantanamo were brought there by American’s.  Guantanamo hangs the American flag, so it is already American, silly!  They are closing it because the previous administration has used it for a place of torture which has stigmatized America’s democratic patriotism, and when that happens those places are typically disbanded or vacated and no longer used.

Aside form that, American laws tells us that people are innocent until proven guilty, last time I checked.  Many of the people who the Bush administration claimed were “terrorist” were in fact NOT terrorists.  If they are closing the place they need to provide another place to have a trial.  If they committed no crimes then they should be released.  These GOP’ers should already know that.

BTW, religious fanaticism is already here, so the terrorism isn’t just from over seas or people being held in Guantanamo.  We’ve had fanatics commit crimes against groups of people in America who are American, and those crimes have been committed for dogmatic views.  Jim Jones, Timothy McVeigh, Branch Davidian, KKK, and I’m sure there are more of these kinds of fanatical terrorists lurking around here in America.

Bohner and his GTMO bill is okay with me, but it needs to be more thorough, and it should include any terrorist who targets any other American as well, not just foreign terrorists.

“Keep Terrorists Out Of America Act” Announced By GOP

The GOP clearly sees a chink in the Obama armor when it comes to the closure of Guantanamo Bay. A jarring new advertisement on the subject released by Senate Republicans, followed by a floor speech whacking the president from Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, led, on Thursday, to its inevitable conclusion.

The office of House Minority Leader John Boehner sends over word that the Ohio Republican and GOP ranking members are “introducing a big GTMO bill today designed to stop the transfer or release of these detainees into the U.S.”

Titled the “Keep Terrorists Out of America Act,” the legislation would give members of Congress “an opportunity to stand with the American people by affirming their opposition to releasing the terrorists at Guantanamo prison or bringing them into the United States.”

Newt Gingrich’s Gay Fascism; More Myth Stories from Religious Fascists!

I think these extremist groups are confusing “Gay Fascism” with something else because Gay people are only fighting for equality and nothing else, so the myth that an alleged “Gay Fascism” exists is a myth being started by these people.

They are not trying to convert your children as the myth going around claims.  You are either Gay or Not, just like you can’t convert anyone to being “Straight,” oh yes, you can pretend to be straight, because you need to fit into your particular group of people and feel accepted, but your only fooling yourself.  The extremist conversion theory is a myth pushed by religious fanatics, along with many other myths.

The only fascists that I know of is Hitler, KKK, and other extremist groups, but they all follow mythical biblical law, and want to exterminate and threaten all Gay people, so again, I have to say that Gingrich is spreading more myth stories in order to gain the converts he needs to push his presidency and kill Gay people.

So, if you like myth stories then you would fit with Gingrich’s new group.

Educate yourself on these kinds of religious fascists, terrorists and fanatical groups [Jim Jones, Timothy McVeigh, Branch Davidian, etc.]  These are some good examples of why religion should be Separate from Church and State laws and politics.  If we have people like Gingrich pushing his Evangelical views on the rest of us, then what religion will we all be forced to practice in the name of his “god”?  Would the Evangelical’s finally ban “The Book of Mormon” for blasphemy or would the Pope finally condemn Evangelicals for removing the word of God from their religious book?  We will only know if people like Gingrich succeed.

Gay people are not pushing any religion or “god” on anyone.  Gay people just want to be free to practice their own religious faiths [freedom of religious practice], and to be treated as American’s with equal protection under constitutional law, NOT religious law.

Newt Gingrich’s Gay Fascism

If only Newt Gingrich could have been a one-hit wonder. Instead, the former Speaker of the House is stirring the pot with a potential 2012 bid for President, and the formation of a new group – Renewing American Leadership. What is the goal of Renewing American Leadership?

To combat gay and secular fascism.

Much as we’d like to be kidding, here’s Gingrich on Fox News:

[T]here is a gay and secular fascism in this country that wants to impose its will on the rest of us, is prepared to use violence, to use harassment. I think it is prepared to use the government if it can get control of it.

So in order to combat this gay fascism, Gingrich’s new organization is looking to build and strengthen coalitions between economic conservatives and religious conservatives. According to Bill Berkowitz over at Buzz Flash, Gingrich will be taking his new organization to an influential group of conservative pastors that were among the leaders of the Bush re-election campaign of 2004, and Gingrich is planning on releasing a film about the late Pope John Paul II’s role in taking down the Soviet Union.

Religious Extremists T-Shirt

Warning! Religious extremists target Gay community. Recent events caused an increasing of hate violence/terrorism toward the Gay community after religious extremists pushed prop 8.

Islamic Revival Tests Bosnia’s Secular Cast

Religion is personal and should stay out of civil law because of the diversity of different belief systems. Once a society starts adopting extremist religious views the society starts to fall apart, and ends up in war after war. Everyone needs to wake up because this isn’t happening in Bosnia alone, and they are not Islamic extremists.

There are those that don’t believe in “separation of church and state,” and they claim there is no “wall” that separates their religious views from civil law.  That separations has been common law, and common understanding for generations, this is why we are not a theocratic nation, but a republic that respects that separation and that congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…

If this is not true then should we have Islamic law written into our constitution?  No, because it is true that we have separation of church and state, so lets fight to keep it separate and pure.

Islamic Revival Tests Bosnia’s Secular Cast [read more]
Religious and national identity have long been fused in multifaith Bosnia.

It was tradition in villages to refer to neighbors by their religion — Muslim, Orthodox, Catholic, rather than as Bosniak, Serb or Croat.

In the nation-building that followed Dayton, that practice has become stronger.

In Sarajevo, a predominantly Muslim city, dozens of streets named after Communist revolutionaries were renamed after Muslim heroes, and political parties stressing Muslim identity gained large constituencies.

Catholic Croats and Orthodox Serbs, meanwhile, cleave to their own religious and cultural identities. Church attendance is on the rise; in the Serb Republic, even ministries and police departments have their own Orthodox patron saints.

Muharem Bazdulj, deputy editor of the daily Oslobodenje, the voice of liberal, secular Bosnia, said he feared the growth of Wahhabism, the conservative Sunni movement originating in Saudi Arabia that aims to strip away foreign and corrupting influences.

Analysts say Saudi-financed organizations have invested about $700 million in Bosnia since the war, often in mosques.

Separation of Church and State! Keep civil laws and religious dogma separate. Yes there is such a thing, but fanatics want you to think otherwise. This is America, not some theocracy!

Man says God ordered him

What else is ‘god’ telling these people?

Got some scary people getting all kind of messages from ‘god!’ It’s so simple for the guy from behind the pulpit to tell his followers what to do. Very scary people!

Man says God ordered him
A man who rammed his truck into a woman’s vehicle on a highway early Friday told authorities he crashed into her while going more than 100 mph because God told him “she needed to be taken off the road.”

The truck rear-ended the car on U.S. Highway 281, both vehicles spun across a median then came to a stop along a barrier in the opposite lanes. Both drivers suffered only minor injuries.

“He just said God said she wasn’t driving right, and she needed to be taken off the road,” Bexar County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kyle Coleman said in the online edition of the San Antonio Express-News. “God must have been with them, ’cause any other time, the severity of this crash, it would have been a fatal.”

The pickup driver did not tell police how the woman was driving. Police could not find alcohol or drugs in either driver.

A psychiatric evaluation has been ordered for a man.

Another Direction

Seems like this WordPress blog is going in another direction!

When I see the growth of ignorance, and people trying to force their religion down my throat and the throats of others by trying to reconstruct California’s constitution, I have to say NO!

It appears this particular blog has gone in that direction of fairness and equal treatment for ALL Californian’s. This is what happens when some one tries to force their fanaticism on me, especially with large supporter in Utah. After all, it is also why we have American Soldiers fighting a war over alleged fanatics. So, surely you must understand that I must keep fighting to defend California’s constitution for OUR Soldiers sakes, my own and the sake of future Californian’s.

All others can go back home!

Equal Right’s Under Attack! This Reminds Me of Bin Laden.

Seems like the fanatics are out in full force, and I’m not talking about BinLaden or any of his associated religious practices.

I’m talking about here in the United States.

People supporting Justice, Equality and Human Rights are being threatened and attacked by these fanatics who want to destroy OUR Basic Democracy and include discrimination in California’s Constitution.

Equal Right’s Under Attack!
The NO on Prop 8 Web site was hit by a massive cyber invasion called a distributed denial of service attack (DoS) that took down the site for several hours last night, with the assault originating not just in-state, but from Texas, New Jersey and Georgia.

The NO on Prop 8 campaign’s Web site attack started late yesterday afternoon when the Web team was alerted by higher-than-normal traffic. The traffic escalated over the next several hours, slowing the system and by 10 pm, a small team of engineers concluded that that NO on 8 website was under a full cyber attack.

“I’m sure we’ll hear a lot of denials today from the Prop 8 campaign, but this is clearly an orchestrated attempt to tear down what has become one of the largest grassroots movements in California electoral history,” said Patrick Guerriero, NO on Prop 8 Campaign Director. “We have reported this to the FBI and other federal authorities and we have secured our site in ways we never thought would be necessary. But make no mistake – this was an attack against individual rights, not just a Web site.”
